A Sense of Place
The beautiful Catskill Mountain/Hudson Valley region in upstate New York has inspired artists since Thomas Cole founded the Hudson River School in the mid-nineteenth century. The movement’s romantic portrayal of the land resonates with anyone who has visited or lived in the area.
Artist Margaret Helthaler captures the nostalgic sense of place and tranquility in her photographs of old barns, stone walls, hayfields, still forests, wildlife, and waterways—and celebrates the finer details in her drawings and repeat patterns.
You can enjoy her work on ceramic tile, framed art, wallpaper, and more.
Woodworker Chris Helthaler expresses his connection with the land through the salvaged and locally sourced hardwoods he uses to build our frames and other pieces.
